Sequoia has studied yoga for over 18 years and has been teaching since 1997 upon her return from India. She has studied with senior teachers worldwide and completed a certification in Vinyasa Krama Yoga with Sri Vatsa Ramaswami. Sequoia loves to incorporate Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, vedic chanting, and pranayama, along with asana practice. Singing in choirs all throughout life, as well as being a classically trained pianist, she eventually was drawn to the harmonium. Initially exploring kirtan music with Jai Uttal and Daniel Paul marked the path for her continuing musical journey with Wah!, with whom she has been touring over the last four years.

Divine Droplets has been inspired by many years of practice and connection with exceptionally talented musicians. She studies classical indian music with Pandit Vikash Maharaj and his son Prabhash Maharaj from Varanasi, who contribute to this album honoring the traditions where this music originally comes from in India.

Wah! has also been a major influence in Sequoia's life by allowing the music to come through in authentic ways, such as meeting Paul Hollman, the producer of this album. She also led her to Katisse Buckingham, who also adds the elements of jazz perfection to one's ears and heart.

Sequoia’s live band, the Gypsy Nights, includes such talents as, B-Violin: Bahman Sarram, Reverend Stickman, and Kevin Dooley, as well as Delton Davis. The fusion of this album, Divine Droplets, allows positive messages, or mantras, to come through, while the music carries the message in an ocean of grooves.
